Why Drum Circle?

A drum circle offers a range of benefits that extend beyond the realm of music.

Through synchronized rhythms and communal engagement, participants often experience a sense of connection and unity, fostering social bonds and reducing feelings of isolation.

Moreover, the rhythmic activity can promote relaxation, stress reduction, and a heightened sense of mindfulness, making drum circles a valuable avenue for both personal well-being and group harmony.

Testimonials

Drum circle with William Laurin and Monica Piotrowski has been an amazing experience for our Autism & Arts in Laurentians (AAL) program in Lachute and Ste-Agathe-des-Monts. Both William and Monica are very personable and connected with our participants (who are teens and young adults on the autism spectrum).

Some were shy and/or anxious about trying drum circle (for the first time) but William and Monica were able to make everyone feel comfortable and more importantly, have fun! After a few rounds, our members really got into it and there was definitely some magic in the air when the group got onto a strong beat!

From a contractual perspective, William and Monica were very professional and easy to work with. They arrived much earlier before each session to ensure the space was set up properly. They brought 20 drums plus a variety of other percussion instruments of excellent quality to our sessions. And the loudness of the drumming was artfully controlled through calm (yet enthusiastic) instruction. All in all, SoundVibe circles brings a very different kind of positive energy to our arts program. We look forward to our next drum circle with them!

I had a great time drumming last summer. Listening and responding to other people’s ideas was life changing.
